Application Installation

Step 1: Go to Zoho marketplace and install the extension by clicking "Start free trial" option.

Step 2: Select the check box by agreeing to the terms and conditions and click Continue.

Step 3: Click "Continue to Install" option by selecting the check boxes.

Step 4: Choose the profiles to whom you want to install the application in Zoho CRM and click Continue.

Step 5: Now the extension is installed successfully. For configuration, click the "Settings" option at the top right.

Step 6: Sign in to Ulgebra using your Zoho CRM mail ID either signing in with email or google option.

Step 7: Now, select your Zoho CRM domain and authorize your Zoho CRM account by clicking "Accept".

Step 8: Enter your Vonage account credentials and authorize your Vonage account by clicking the "Authorize" option.

Step 9: Now, the accounts are authorized and ready to use. To view additional options, click the profile picture at the top right and find the same.

  • View authorized Zoho CRM account and Vonage account. Re-authorize the accounts if required.

  • Get workflow code and Webhook URL from the "Workflows" section.

  • Use shared accounts by clicking the "Manage App Users" option.

  • The "Reset App Configuration" clears all the data and configuration.

Add Vonage Sender in Zoho CRM

Step 1: Go to any of the Zoho CRM leads/contacts and click the "Send SMS - Vonage" option. Click the Choose Sender option and find the "Add New Sender" option.

Step 2: Now, select the channel from the drop-down, enter the Sender ID and the Display Name in the space provided and use the "Save Sender" option to save the Vonage Sender.

Now the sender is created and you can fetch the same while sending out messages using the extension.

Application Features

1) Send single messages from Zoho CRM

Step 1: Go to any of the Zoho CRM leads/contacts/deals and click the "Send SMS - Vonage" option.

Step 2: Select the Sender from the drop-down. You can also either pin or delete the sender. You can find the options by clicking the sender.

Add the default country code if the number does not contain a country code with it.

You can also insert fields and templates in the messages.

The option to insert emojis along with the messages is also available with the extension.

Once the message is entered, click the "Send SMS" option to send the message.

[Note: If the country code is not added, messages may fail and will not reach the recipient.]

2) Send Bulk messages from Zoho CRM

Step 1: Select the required number of leads/contacts/deals and click the "Send Bulk SMS - Vonage" option.

Step 2: Select the Sender. Use the "Add Recipients" option to add the bulk numbers. You can either search and add leads/contacts/deals or add the numbers manually.

Add the default country code with the number and select the required conditions from the drop-down. They are:

  • Do not add Country code - If you have a country code for all your existing records in your CRM, you can select the ignore option.

  • Add for all phone numbers - If all your existing records in your CRM don't have any country code you can select this option which will country code for all your numbers.

  • Add if phone number starts with 0 - In case you have phone numbers in your existing records that were saved with 0 (usually applies for abroad numbers), you can select this option.

  • Add if phone number does not start with country code - In case some of your records in CRM don't have any country code in them you can select this option which will add country code only for the numbers which don't have a country code in it and ignore the ones which already have country code in it.

Once all are done, click the "Send SMS" option to send the bulk messages.

3) View the message history inside Zoho CRM

To view the message history of each lead/contact/deal in Zoho CRM, search for the option "Vonage History" at the Related list in the left side where you can view the all messages sent to that person.

In order to view all the person records, click the three dots at the top panel in Zoho CRM and check for the option "Vonage History" to view all messages sent via the extension.

To view additional details in that section, use the "Manage Columns" option.

4) Create and manage templates inside Zoho CRM

Step 1: Go to any of the Zoho CRM leads/contacts and click the "Send SMS - Vonage" option. Scroll down and click the "Insert Template" option. Now, click the "Add New Template" option.

Step 2: Enter the template name. Enter the template message in the text box. Use the Insert fields option and emojis if required. Click the "Save Template" option to save the template.

Once saved, you can fetch the template when sending a message.

5) Send automated messages using workflows.

While setting up workflows, enter the workflow code which you can get by following the steps below.

Go to any of the Zoho CRM leads/contacts --> Click the "Send SMS - Vonage" option --> Click the profile picture --> Workflows.

You can copy the Workflow code and webhook URL from there.

SMS Parameters:

"to" - Enter the recipient phone number field (Can be Phone or Mobile field)

"text" - Enter the message content.

"from" - Enter the Vonage Sender ID

"module" - Enter the module name (Leads/Contacts/Deals)

"recordId" - This parameter can be Lead ID for example.

"channel" - This value can be "SMS".

6) Use shared account with users

Go to any of the Zoho CRM leads/contacts --> Click the "Send SMS - Vonage" option --> Click the profile picture --> Manage App users.

Add required users so that they can use your Vonage account to send messages without sharing exact login credentials.
