Zoho desk is one of the best customer support ticketing platforms developed by Zoho Corporation. It helps to effectively handle the customer support tickets, contract management and for report creation.

Telnyx is a cloud-based platform that focuses on enabling communication in different platforms by integrating voice and messaging services. Since it will be a next-generation communication platform, integrating Telnyx with the most usable and preferred Zoho Desk ticketing system was developed and implemented. Hence the extension "Telnyx SMS for Zoho Desk" helps to engage customers without any loss of communication at the right times.

Application Installation and Configuration

Step 1: Go to the Zoho marketplace and search for the application "Telnyx SMS for Zoho Desk". Click "Install" to install the application.

Step 2: Select the check boxes by agreeing to the terms and conditions and click the "Install" option.

Step 3: Select the department and profiles to access the extension. Select the check box at the bottom and click the "Install" button.

Step 4: Now, the extension is installed. To configure it, click the "Telnyx Message" option at the top panel.

Step 5: You have to authorize your Zoho account by clicking the "Authorize Now" option.

Step 6: Click "Accept" to confirm the authorization.

Step 7: Now, enter the Telnyx API key in the space provided and "Authorize" it. Use the "Create or Get Here" option to get your Telnyx API key.

Step 8: You can copy your already available API key or use the "Create API key" option to configure a new key with Zoho Desk.

Step 9: Now the authorization is complete, and you can view the authorized accounts and Telnyx balance by clicking the profile picture at the right.

Application working

1) Initiate a message from Zoho Desk

Step 1: Click the Telnyx Message option at the top panel and select the Sender from the drop-down. You can also pin the sender and make it as a default one.

Step 2: Click the "Add Recipients" option to add the required contacts by using the "Search from Contact" option. You can also enter the number manually with the country code and "Add" it to the recipient section.

Step 3: Check for the added numbers in the recipient section. Add the default country code if the numbers do not contain the country code with it.

Enter the message in the text box or select any templates. You can also use the merge fields if required.

Find the in-built emojis keyboard at the bottom and use it if required.

To create a ticket in the Zoho desk for the sent message, select the check box below and click "Send SMS" to send the message.

Step 4: Once the message is sent, you will get notified of the status of it inside Zoho Desk.

Step 5: Then accordingly, a ticket will be created in your Zoho desk for the sent message.

Step 6: Inside the ticket, you can view the message added in the conversation thread.

Step 7: To send a message again use the "Send Telnyx Message" option inside the ticket.

Step 8: Enter all the require details and click the "Send SMS" option to send the message.

2) Send message from the Tickets module

Step 1: To send a Telnyx message from any existing tickets, click the extension icon in the right corner.

Step 2: Select the sender and add the default country code if required. If you want to close the view at the right, click the minimize option at the top right of the interface anytime.

Step 3: Insert required fields or templates and enter the message content in the text box.

Click the "Send SMS" option to send the message. To view the expanded view, click the option provided below.

Step 4: Now, the notification of the sent message will be received.

3) Send message from the Contacts module

To send messages to Zoho Desk contacts, go to the Zoho Desk customers section, and send messages using the interface at the right.

4) Send Bulk messages from Zoho Desk

To send out bulk messages in both Tickets and Contacts module, use the "Add Recipients" option. The various ways to send out bulk messages are:

  • Select an appropriate filter to send messages to filter contacts or tickets.

  • Search for the contacts and add them to send bulk messages.

  • Add the number manually and send out bulk messages.

5) Send Instant Telnyx messages

Click the Telnyx icon provided at the bottom of the Zoho Desk and send out instant messages.

6) Create and manage templates inside Zoho Desk

Step 1: Go to the Telnyx Message option. Click the "Add New Template" option to create a new template.

Step 2: Enter the template name and content in the provided space. Use emojis and merge fields if required.

Click "Save Template" to save the template inside Zoho Desk.

Step 3: Once a template is created, you can fetch the same for sending out messages.

Step 4: You can also edit or delete the created template anytime by clicking the respective options.
